Treatment

The Acupuncture InstituteListed below are the types of treatment methods that are available to patients at our office. While not all of our treatments methods are appropriate for every condition, a unique treatment plan is designed for each patient by combining these modalities to help each patient achieve their health goals.

Acupuncture Therapy
Acupuncture is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in which hair thin, sterile needles are placed gently into the body at specific acupuncture points. By needling these points, the nervous system is stimulated into releasing chemicals that help reduce pain and decrease inflammation.
  • Auricular Acupuncture: Auricular Acupuncture is Acupuncture that is administered to points on the outer ear (there are over 200 points in the outer ear. Each pointed is named after a generalized part our of anatomy: shoulder, neck, knee, back, ect.). It is a special technique that is used to create hormonal, vascular, and neurological changes within the body. Auricular Acupuncture can be used to increase mental clarity, reduce cravings, anxiety, and withdrawal symptoms associated with addiction.

Chinese Herbal Medicine
One of the earliest forms of medicine, Chinese herbal medicine is another component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). A variety of herbs can used in different combinations to restore balance to the body, promote immune function and treat disease without side effects.

Tui Na
A form of Chinese medical massage which is used to manipulate the joins, viscera, and soft tissues. This form of manual therapy is used in traditional Chinese medicine to encourage and improve blood flow to areas of the body, decrease pain, and inflammation.

Nutritional Counseling and Supplementation
Guidance on eating optimally for your individual constitution, based on Eastern Food therapy and Western Nutrition recommendations for the support and treatment of health and medical conditions.

Advanced Diagnostic Testing
Functional lab testing may be necessary to further evaluate the underlying causes of a patient's condition. These tests are used in conjunction with the information collected by a patient questionnaire to identify altered function (rather than disease) of human physiology.

Lifestyle Coaching
Working one on one with a patient to provide guidance and integrative health care options to support a patient on their healing journey.

Detoxification Programs
A uniquely designed program to address and correct metabolic issues (low-thyroid) and physiological processes (unable to lose weight) within the body that may be contributing to a patients ailment, complaint or health concern.

Chiropractic Care
A health care discipline that manipulates body structures, especially the spine, to treat and prevent mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. This alternative form of care can be used to normalize joint motion, reduce nerve interference, relieve pain, and restore normal body mechanics.
